myMiOS web portal
myMiOS is an internet web site that provides online services to compliment your MiOS system.  The main purpose is to provide secure access to your MiOS system over the internet from any web browser or internet-enabled phone.  myMiOS uses the same security mechanisms as online banking.  If you want to be notified of events in your MiOS system, like when a security sensor is tripped or pipes freeze, your MiOS system will send the information to myMiOS which handles sending you an email or SMS text message.  myMiOS also stores an online archive of video from your surveillance cameras, energy usage, system alerts and more.  Also, you can purchase optional MiOS market applications and services on your myMiOS site.

myMiOS

myMiOS scans your home network for any MiOS systems.  If there is a MiOS system on the same home network you are current using for internet access, and it has not yet been linked to a myMiOS account it will be listed at the top of the page under 'New MiOS systems on your home network'.  You can take over control of them by clicking the 'Add to myMiOS account' button.  So, for example, if you setup a MiOS system in your home, and you have a new MiOS system in your vacation home that you want to control from the same myMiOS account, you need to be physically at the vacation house and connected to the same internet connection as your MiOS system.  This means if you're accessing the internet through a mobile connection, like a mobile phone or iPad, you must use wi-fi to connect to the same internet connection as the MiOS system before you can add the system to your myMiOS account.  Once it has been added to your myMiOS account, then you can control the system from anywhere and no longer need to be on the same home network.

Once a MiOS system has been added to your myMiOS account it will show up under the myMiOS systems section.  You can let other people have access to the system by telling them to register for their own myMiOS account and getting from them their myMiOS username and the email they used to register.  Then click the '+Add user' link and supply this information and indicate if that myMiOS account should be an administrator, which means they can configure the system and add or remove other myMiOS users, or a guest, which means they only have basic control over devices, or a notification only, which means they have no access to the system, but can still receive notifications of events and alarms.

In the previous example where you have a MiOS system in your home, and also a second one in a vacation home, let's assume that you're not the one setting up the MiOS system in the vacation home, but you still want access.  Whoever is physically present at the vacation home to setup the MiOS system must have a myMiOS account and add it to his account while he is connected on site.  Once he has done that, then he can add you as an administrator so you have full access remotely.  As an administrator, you could then remove the myMiOS account of the person who initially set it up and gave you access, taking away his ability to access the system any more.

Click contact information to indicate how you want to receive notifications from the MiOS systems.
Click Remove if you want to remove this MiOS system from your myMiOS account.  Once you confirm this you will no longer have access to this system.

If you are on the same internet connection as other MiOS systems which you cannot control and are controlled by other myMiOS users, a section will appear called "MiOS systems on my home network controlled by others", which lists them for your reference along with the myMiOS usernames that can control the system.  You will need to ask one of those users to add you if you want to control it as well.
